Firewise Community Awareness

Posted on: 2005-12-07
During wildfire season, maintain a 30 foot defensible space around your home. Combustible materials, shrubs, and small trees should be restricted from this zone. Be sure your address is clearly visible both day and night in case of emergencies. Firewise meetings are held at the RDD building at Bancroft and Nugent. Meetings begin at 1:30 p.m.
Contact Ed Fleming (407-568-3653) for meeting dates. We are always open to ideas and suggestions, so we hope to see you at the next meeting.

FDLE - Florida Sex Offenders & Predators

Posted on: 2005-05-11
Visit the Florida Department of Law Enforcement website
to search for sex offenders by ZIP code or neighborhood, click the link below. I encourage everyone to visit the Florida Department of Law Enforcement website to obtain the information. Keep in mind, time served by these people cannot bring back the life a victim led before an attack, nor can it bring back a loved one lost to such a crime. Let's keep Wedgefield safe.

Citizens On Patrol

Posted on: 2006-06-22
Citizens On Patrol (COP) is a volunteer unit of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, providing the Sheriff with extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance law enforcement.

The primary job of COP is to watch over our neighborhoods. The volunteers are men and women who are husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, grandfathers and grandmothers, retired, employed full-time or part-time. These members come from diverse backgrounds, but they share a common goal: keeping their community safe.

In order to participate, volunteers have to be at least 21 years old, and must pass a criminal background check, a physical exam and a voice stress analysis.

If you are interested in more information about the COP program or want a Volunteer Aplication, please contact Victor Alzona at 321-287-7611.
